Did you see us on Focus?

I’m a pretty proud Daddy today… I just heard my daughter Alyssa rock her interview on Focus on the Family yesterday (we record these things months prior, so I had forgot how good she was- truly amazing).

You can catch the whole thing on YouTube HERE:

I think my favorite part was how courageous she was… she didn’t shy away from ousting me and other parents for our part in this whole “screen dilemma” that so many adults tend to put on kids. It was good to hear a snippet of her story, something she’s goes into much more detail throughout our new book.

Great job Alyssa! You’ve got a gift!

The unedited list of the top 10 books I’ve ever read

Posted on: 04/21/20 1:33 PM | by Jonathan McKee

Last week a Christian radio network asked me to provide them with  a little glimpse into my personal life, specifically the top 10 books I’ve enjoyed reading.

My first response was laughter…because my wife Lori always teases me how I don’t want to read at night. I always tell her, “Baby, after reading studies all day and writing…the LAST thing I want to do at night is more reading.”

But she loves reading, so we’ve compromised and I’ve found that I can relax if I Continue reading “The unedited list of the top 10 books I’ve ever read”

Do you want a sneak peek at my next book?

Posted on: 02/3/20 3:00 AM | by Jonathan McKee

I’m looking for some people to give me feedback
about my book BEFORE it’s published

My 24-year-old daughter Alyssa and I are finishing up our last few chapters in my next book—and yes, this one I’m co-writing with her! She is bringing such an amazing perspective, I think people are really going to enjoy her vulnerability about the effect social media has had on her life.

The book is to teenagers about “face-to-face connections in a screen-to-screen world.” Alyssa and I share 40 tips to meaningful communication…that we wish we knew 5 years ago.

Would you like to read it next week? Because I’m looking for feedback… and you’ll have 10 days to peek at it.

Here’s the deal: If you’d like to read this book before anyone else does Continue reading “Do you want a sneak peek at my next book?”

A fun conversation on Moody Radio

Posted on: 05/6/19 3:00 AM | by Jonathan McKee

Today (Monday, May 6th) I am really looking forward to the conversation with my friend Chris Brooks live on Moody radio. We’re talking about how we can actually help “distracted” young guys today.

Over the last several years I’ve had the opportunity to be the guest on Chris’ show, “Equipped with Chris Brooks” and it’s always one of my favorite interactions (shhhhhh…. don’t tell anyone!)

Chris brings wisdom, authenticity and relevance to conversations Continue reading “A fun conversation on Moody Radio”

Broke 1000

Posted on: 11/26/18 5:00 AM | by Jonathan McKee

Amazed once again at how good God is… last weekend Black Friday shoppers loaded up on my Guy’s Guide to God, Girls, and the Phone in Your Pocket. The book was ranked 924 of ALL BOOKS on Amazon through the weekend.

Not bad at all for a Christian book to teen guys!

It’s funny, this is the book that parents keep buying and when I read the reviews, the common consensus is, “I bought this for my son (grandson, nephew, little brother) and he actually liked it!”  (I always laugh when people are so surprised when a guy actually reads a book!)

Shout out to my editor to Kelly for setting the vision for this one!
