JONATHAN’S FAVORITES
1. My absolute favorite free training resource we provided last year was the training video “Connecting With the Six Types of Kids.” This video provides a great summary of youth ministry and lays the foundation for relational ministry. This video is a peice of my Connect Training Workshop and my book, CONNECT: Real Relationships in a World of Isolation.
2. My second favorite resource in 2010 is our totally revamped MUSIC DISCUSSIONS page. This page now has comment and rating features, and the ability to organize them by artist, title, topic or user rating. Very cool stuff. That page also has a ton of new discussions. You’ll see Crowder’s Shine, and Everything Glorious, Rihanna’s Only Girl, Airplanes from B.o.B, Taylor Swift’s Mine, TobyMac’s Lose My Soul… and more!
3. How can I ignore the entirely new website we just launched for parents TheSource4Parents.com This is an amazing new resource for parents.
4. I love the Youth Culture Window article reviewing the music and the messages of the 17 different songs that went #1 during the year 2010.

I’m leaning toward the Music Discussions page. I use the fire out of that thing. One of my parents has sat in class twice in the past year and both times I’ve used a Nickelback song. He asked, “is this church or a nickel back concert.” in a nice way. I might have never found Shine by David Crowder without it.
But if I had to pick the big one thing, I’d say…..wait for it….. Your bullying article where you opened up the family vault. It wasn’t just tremendous heart felt writing, it was spot on info.
What an awesome source. And oh yeah, it’s free.
Thanks Jon. I like the Music Discussions page too. I actually used the SHINE discussion last week teaching a group of adults at my church. Fun stuff!
I have to agree with Jonathan’s top pick, the Connect training. The book was excellent, and I bought a copy for all of my team. When we began our actual training, having the video made my job that much easier!
I also LOVE the Movie Clip Discussions, and use them regularly. We have a weekly Bible study called “Blockbuster Bible Study,” and I refer often to this page for help.
