FollowWow… this is sad on so many different levels. This is from my local news here in Sacramento, our CBS Channel 13:
A Sacramento State grad is trying to make money the old fashioned way, by auctioning off her virginity to help pay for her graduate studies. And so far, bidding is up to $250,000.
The 22-year-old who is using the pseudonym Natalie Dylan for safety reasons is going through a legal brothel in Nevada to sell her virginity. “The main purpose of this is to finance a couple things in my life,” Dylan told CBS13. “I think empowerment of women is picking yourself up and doing something on your own to better yourself.”
Better yourself? I guess she missed the point of the 1993 Robert Redford, Demi Moore film, Indecent Proposal.
Dylan says she’s already taken a polygraph test to prove her virginal status, and is also willing to undergo a medical exam.
The auction will take place at the Bunny Ranch in Carson City, Nevada with bids coming in through their website. Owner Dennis Hof tells CBS13 that eBay rejected the auction, so he’ll handle the entire process.
Here’s the kicker.
Hof says Dylan is a bright, beautiful young woman who’s going to consider a number of factors in her decision because she wants her first time to be a positive experience. “Natalie is a very smart girl. All she wants to do is get her master’s degree in family and marriage counseling and be a psychologist. She’s selling her virginity to accomplish that,” Hof told CBS13. “She’s smart enough to sell it. This is empowering her.”

I’m not trying to make light of this at all…it’s really sad. But, does anyone catch the irony of a girl selling her virginity (selling herself), then trying to get a degree in family and marriage counseling

that’s just tragic!
This is definitely one of those oddities in the news.
I also found it ironic that she will be pursuing an MA in Marriage and Family counseling.
However, the fact that bidding is at $250k+ is pretty astounding. I mean, really, that’s quite the business proposition. If I could convince someone to pay that much for myself (not so much of a market for guys though) it would easily pay for a small rental property to support a long life of pursuing a career without the stress of paychecks.
I think this is so horrible. All it boils down to. Our society is going down because of greed. Doesn’t this girl know that she is telling other young girls that their virginity is nothing sacred. That’s one of the many problems we have. Disease, pregnancy, etc. I hope she knows she is selling her soul to Satan by doing this. You can’t put a price on something so special. What is she gonna tell her daughter when asked. This is so sad.
All she is doing is telling everyone that she is a whore. She will be the highest paid whore in the world and that will be the only thing she’ll be remembered as is a whore. I mean the Bunny Ranch’s website even says it… “The best little whorehouse in Reno”.
And does she seriously think that she can become someone worthy of trust and guidance by others as a counselor after she does this? I wouldn’t want any guidance by her. ESPECIALLY about family values, love, respect and honor, she clearly violates all of that right here.
Also, as to the feminist empowerment… there is NO Feminist looking up to her or what she is doing. I mean using your body or sex to get things is not feminist empowerment, it’s manipulation. Feminist empowerment is working hard and doing the work (just like everyone else in the world) to accomplish the tasks lain out before you.
Virginity…how can anyone be so selfish and give it up to a stranger for money? When i lost mine i was in love and it was the best night of my life. What is she going to tell her kids when its time for the bees and the birds speech? Mummy lost her virginity to the guy who paid the highest. Follow my lead because im an expert at family and relationships.
Shes either doing this for fame or stupidity. I dont know which one is worse. After that stunt i dont think any guy will ever respect her again. I can just imagine how her parents must be feeling.
