Top TV in 2015

Families-Watch-Walking-DeadWhat are the top shows Americans are watching in 2015? Nielsen just cranked out the results.

But note that I said, “Americans” …not American teens or American families. That’s a huge difference, simply because Grandpa watches a whole lot more TV than my generation and my kids’ generation (today’s teens like screens, but primetime TV isn’t the top activity on their list). So don’t be surprised when you see Dancing with the Stars and NCIS on the list, and you don’t see The Voice (a teen favorite) on the list.

But Grandpa’s influence aside, you’ll still notice America’s love for Sunday Night Football, The Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, and Empire.

Here’s a peek at the top 10 primetime programs of 2015:

As you can see, America still loves The Walking Dead. That’s a powerful cable show to be competing with—and beating—most primetime network shows. That’s why we are using America’s fascination for the show to create dinner table and water cooler conversations about truth with our The Gospel According to The Walking Dead blog.

I was excited that Blue Bloods made the list too. Opinions vary on the show, but I like the fact that it really emphasizes the importance of family, even making that extended family dinner a key part of the show each week.

What does your family watch?
