Thankful

One thing I really love about Thanksgiving is the fact that it triggers much of the country to stop and reflect about what they’re thankful for. Here’s the top 7 items on my “thankful for” this year:

  1. My 18-year-old daughter Alyssa came home from college for a week! (Man, we miss her!)
  2. My 16-year-old daughter Ashley started a new school this year and she’s loving it.
  3. My mom retired this year and is beginning to travel with my dad and “smell the roses.”
  4. My friend David R. Smith started pastoring his first church… and he’s really enjoying it.
  5. I keep receiving really fun feedback about my zombie books. Amazon is moving them pretty fast and now they’re even available at Amazon.ca
  6. I’m several chapters into writing my next book.
  7. My wife Lori and I are going to our first Denver Broncos game this year! (Good year to be a Bronco fan)

What are you thankful for?

  1. #8 My son’s roller hockey team that I coach made it to the championship game next Saturday. I’m thankful that my family shares the same passion for the sport as I do.

#7 I was recently asked to be the best man at a friend’s wedding. He’s one of my closest friends and my right hand youth leader.

#6 My new roof. I was putting off this expensive repair for a while but in September I took a week off of work and did the job with a friend and saved about half the costs. It looks great and I know that it was done right.

#5 Next gen gaming consoles – still undecided which one to get (PS4 or Xbox 1) but just the thought of gaming in true hi def at 60 frames per second gets this gamer’s heart racing. definitely got to save up for the hefty price tag of these new units.

#4 My health. thankfully I am still in good enough shape to compete with the 20 somethings in the upper levels of the local ice hockey leagues.

#3 My church. It’s a great place to serve God. My brother, his wife and my sister were baptized during last Sunday’s service. Every week more people are added to the kingdom.

#2 My children. they are incredible. We are a close family and all 4 of my kids are incredibly gifted and unique. Our house is a very happy place.

#1 My wife. She is the most Christ-like person I have ever met. she ALWAYS puts her family first. She never complains. She serves Christ and His kingdom with the heart of a servant. She has touched an innumerable number of lives; mine foremost.
