I received a call this summer from a camp director of a big camp in TX and he told me, “I’d like you to speak at our camp this winter, but it’s going to be a little bit different than the typical senior high retreat.”
He wasn’t kidding. This camp is going all out. Each year they have anywhere from 500 to 1000 students at these retreats, but this year they are hosting a “Zombie Senior High Weekend” and they have Hollywood makeup and set designers helping out. I’ll be speaking Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning. And each attendee will be getting a copy of my The Zombie Apocalypse Survival Guide for Teenagers Devotional. All this starting on none other than Friday the 13th this coming February.
I’m sure I’ll hear some criticism from outsiders, but I love out-of-the-box thinkers. The fact is, this weekend will use this fictional premise as a springboard to expose teenagers to the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
I’m looking forward to it.
If you’re near the camp… you should bring your kids! (More about it HERE)
